BUDAPEST

The oldest electrified metro on mainland Europe and now part of UNESCO World Heritage. 

Opened in 1870, destroyed in WW2, and finally reopened in 1986, after 40 long years of waiting.

The last rivet was symbolically hammered in by the Emperor Franz Joseph in 1896.

“The Square of the Franciscans” is a key junction right in the middle of this great city.
